WALLA WALLA, Wash. – The Pacific women's basketball team had multiple opportunities to tie and even take the lead late in the fourth period. But cold shooting ultimately doomed the Boxers, who fell 50-45 Friday night at Whitman.
Pacific opened the game making just 2 of 13 shots in the first period and falling behind 11-5. After leading twice in the second period and trailing just 23-21 at halftime, the Boxers again went cold in the third, making only 2 of 11 shots. Pacific didn't score its first points of the third period until the 3:04 mark as the Blues extended their lead to 29-21.
Pacific senior
Shaade Williams knocked down two free throws to get the Boxers within 40-38 with 3:25 remaining in the fourth period. But Pacific didn't score again until sophomore

Pacific shot just 32.7 percent from the field as a team, including only 14.3 from behind the 3-point line. Whitman wasn't any better, shooting 31.6 and 14.3.Â
With the loss, the Boxers dropped to 0-2 in the Northwest Conference and 5-6 overall.
