SPOKANE, Wash. -- Behind 20 points and eight rebounds from junior
Shaade Williams, the Pacific women's basketball team defeated Whitworth 72-66 Friday night to end a three-game losing streak.
Trailing 9-6, Pacific freshman
Jasmine Olivar knocked down a 3-pointer to tie the game. Senior
Emily Holsan then made a layup to give the Boxers the lead for good.
Pacific, which extended its advantage to as many as nine points in the second quarter, held a 31-26 lead at halftime.
The Boxers then closed the third quarter on a 7-0 run to take a double-digit lead, 50-39, into the fourth.
Pacific took its largest lead, 60-43, with 6:50 remaining in the game.
Freshman
Keiki McGee scored 12 points for the Boxers. Senior
Anya Henderson added 10 points and eight rebounds off the bench.
Pacific improved to 5-8 in the Northwest Conference with the win.
Next: The Boxers play at No. 9 Whitman (21-1, 13-0) on Saturday at 4 p.m.
