Pacific track competes at John Knight Invite

Monmouth, Ore. - Two days of exciting action were had at the John Knight Invite this past weekend. With the Northwest Conference Championships getting closer, athletes are continuing to qualify and make moves within the rankings. Most of the distance races were contested in a twilight setting on Friday, while the rest occurred on a bright sunny day on Saturday.

Top Performers

Friday afternoon was all about distance. After a several personal bests in the 400-meter hurdles and great races in the 1500, the steeplers took to the track and put on a show. Sophomore Morgan Boddy raced near the front for the entirety of the race and nearly out kicked her Lewis & Clark opponent, finishing in third in a time of 11:22.53, once again moving her up Pacific's Top Ten list to now sit at third all time. Senior Cris Brethower and Junior Megan Feitz also raced well, with Feitz racing fast enough to put herself higher on the top ten list as well, running a time of 11:43.69, good enough for sixth all time. On the men's side, senior Reese Yamamoto ran a personal record of 10:02.57 to retake the #10 spot.

On Saturday, junior Ally Hammond finished second overall in the 100 hurdles in a time of 14.48. This was followed by freshman Mikell Adler taking third in the 110 hurdles in a time 15.26. Sophomore Greta Koegler also had a good performance in the hurdles, running a personal best of 15.92 and moving to No. 7 on the top ten list.
