Pacific freshman
Karina Franco scored a career-high 20 points Saturday against Lewis & Clark. The Boxers needed nearly every one of them as Pacific held on to defeat the River Otters 69-66 to improve to 2-2 in the Northwest Conference.
The Boxers didn't make their first field goal until 3 minutes and 45 seconds into the game. But after the slow start,
Brookelynn Burke knocked down a 3-pointer to give Pacific its first lead of the game, 11-9, with 2:03 remaining in the first period.
Tied 38-38, Pacific senior
Shaade Williams made a layup with 6:01 remaining in the third period to give the Boxers the lead for good. Lewis & Clark got within a point, 66-65, with 22 seconds remaining in the game. But Pacific went 3-for-4 at the free throw line to finish off the River Otters.
Williams had a career-high 15 rebounds in the victory. Senior
Lindsay Barden added 12 points, six rebounds and five assists.
The Boxers have won 14-straight against Lewis & Clark, dating back to the 2018-19 season.
