Whitman takes two from Boxers

Results

WALLA WALLA, Wash. — Host Whitman captured men's and women's dual meets in the pool on Saturday afternoon in Walla Walla, topping Pacific.

The Whitman men won 149-51 and the women topped the Boxers by the almost identical score of 147-52.

Rachel Webster was the only gold medal finisher for Pacific, winning the 400 yard I.M. in 4:48.30. She was also second in the 100 yard freestyle in 57.81.

The Boxers also received second place performances from Jack Lloyd in the 100 freestyle, trailing winner Clark Sun by only .60 of a second (47.12 to 47.78). Janae Sargent was also second in the 100 backstroke (1:04.47).

Pacific will get back into the pool next Saturday at the Northwest Invitational in Salem, hosted by Willamette. They will then take over a month off from competition until January 9 when they travel to the College of Idaho.
