Jack Lloyd was a triple winner but the host Bearcats was the team victor on the night during a pair of dual meet victories in swimming on Friday at the Willamette University Natatorium.
Willamette outscored the Boxers on the men's side, 118-77, and the Bearcats captured the women's competition as well, 145-52.
Lloyd, a senior from Portland, won the 50-yard freestyle (22.06), the 100 free (49.30) and anchored the Boxers' winning 400 freestyle relay team.
Pacific also got a win in the 200 freestyle from Ray Miller, who just edged Willamette's Mark Yuvienco. Miller touched the edge of the pool in 1:48.10 with Yuvienco an eyelash behind him at 1:48.84. The Boxers were also on the other side of a close race when
Carter Suzuki was clipped by Mykah Fukiwara in the 200-yard breaststroke, with the Bearcat clocking in at 2:24.24 and Suzuki just behind at 2:24.46.
PU's winning relay squad won in 3:21, anchored by Lloyd and also paced by
Charles Morse,
Sanden Ballreich, and
Derek Dunn.
Rachel Webster was Pacific's lone winner on the women's side, taking the 200-yard butterfly in 2:19.92.
The Boxers will get right back into the pool on Saturday, hosting Linfield at the Forest Grove Aquatic Center. Start time is 11 a.m.
