WALLA WALLA, Wash. — Pacific senior Michael Saka finished second twice on Friday evening as the Boxers dropped a 143-43 decision at Whitman.
The Boxers opened the meet with a second place finish in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:43.96. Pacific's relay squad was comprised of: junior
Aukai Kea (Mililani, Hawaii), senior
Derek Dunn (Springfield, Ore.), Sakai (Honolulu, Hawaii) and senior
Raymond Miller (Portland, Ore.).
Miller earned the first individual points of the night for Pacific with a second place finish in the 200-yard freestyle at 1:46.25.
Kea was a third place finisher in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23:39, while Sakai finished second at 4:32.53 in the 400-yard individual medley.
Sakai recorded back-to-back second place finishes after posting a 55.51 in the 100-yard butterfly.
Dunn notched a third place finish in the 100-yard freestyle at 51.55, while Kea's 57.28 in the 100-yard backstroke was good for second place.
Freshman
Reed Charron (Fort Collins, Colo.) was third with a time of 5:31.14 in the 500-yard freestyle, one event before Dunn swam to third in the 100-yard breaststroke with a season-best 1:04.95.
Pacific's evening came to a close with a third place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:43.79. The Boxers' relay was made up of Miller, senior
Michael Hernandez-Michalski, Charron and
Alex Hallquist (Hillsboro, Ore.).
The Boxers head to Spokane, Wash. tomorrow for a 1 p.m. start against the Whitworth Pirates.
