Aukai Kea earned his first win of the season, while senior
Raymond Miller won his third and fourth events of the young season in Pacific's 131-66 loss to Puget Sound at the Forest Grove Aquatic Center.
Pacific opened the morning second in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:53.12. The Boxer relay was comprised of: Kea (Mililani, Hawaii), senior
Michael Sakai (Honolulu, Hawaii), senior
James Michael Sherman (Portland, Ore.) and senior
Rayce Houser (John Day, Ore.).
In the first 1650-yard freestyle of the season, senior
Michael Hernandez-Michalski (Salinas, Calif.) finished second with a time of 19:14.65. Freshman
Reed Charron (Fort Collins, Colo.) was third in the event at 19:25.83.
The Boxers' first win of the day came in the 200-yard freestyle when Miller (Portland, Ore.) touched the wall at 1:49.18.
Senior
Derek Dunn (Springfield, Ore.) finished second in the 50-yard freestyle at 23.42, while Sakai finished second at 4:37.74 in the 400-yard individual medley.
Miller's second victory came in the 100-yard butterfly when his 53.94 outdid Puget Sound's Justin Sasano's 54.45.
The 100-yard freestyle saw Dunn finish second at 51.59.
Kea's first win of the year came in the 16th event of the day as he swam to a 56.42 in the 100-yard backstroke.
Miller was the runner-up in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:05.80, before Dunn finished third in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:05.68.
The meet came to a conclusion with the 200-yard freestyle relay, which saw Pacific finish third with a time of 1:37.93. The 200-freestyle relay team was made up of Kea, Charron, Sherman and Sakai.
Pacific's dual season continues on Friday, November 10, with a 6 p.m. start at Whitman in Walla Walla, Wash.
