The Pacific University men's and women's swimming teams welcomed local rival Linfield to the Forest Grove Aquatic Center on Friday for a dual meet. The visiting Wildcats' women edged the Boxers 113-89 and on the men's side, Linfield was victorious by a 119-72 margin.
On the women's side, Pacific had three individual winners includingÂ
Sadie Mak, who won the 1,650-yard freestyle (20:05.10), in her first time in competing in the event. Monica Brubeck lowered her season-best time in the 50-yard freestyle, winning in 26.49. She was the lead leg of the winning 200-yard freestyle, who finished in 1:49.29. Joining Brubeck on the relay was Mak,
Grace Connelly and
Kimberly Garcia.
Another winner on the night for the Pacific women was
Kayla Knock, who also lowered her season-best time in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:10.88).Â
For the Pacific men, Ray Miller won two individual events and was the lead leg on the victorious 200-yard freestyle relay. Miller won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:49.50 and the 100-yard butterfly in a season-best time of 53.39.
Aukai Kea was the winner in the 100-yard freestyle in a season time of 50.32 and he was second in the 50-yard freestyle (22.99).
Derek Dunn was second in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:05.01) and third in the 50-yard freestyle (23.39).
The men won the 200-yard freestyle relay (Miller, Houser, Hellquist, Hernandez-Michalski) in a time of 1:49.32.Â
