Box Score The Pacific University volleyball team extended its winning streak to four on the season and fifth in a row in the series against Linfield in McMinnville on Friday night.
The Boxers (12-4, 5-1 NWC) started the match, closing out the opening set with eight-straight points en route for a first set, 25-20 victory. The late comeback propelled the Boxers for the remainder of the match as they had just four hitting errors over the final two sets. Pacific took the final two sets by a 25-16, 25-13 margin en route to the straight-set win.Â
The Wildcats (5-13, 1-5 NWC) were limited to a .135 hitting percentage in the loss. Raelynn Hammock accounted for a team-high eight kills to lead Linfield.
Pacific's Jordan Zweifel, who is the reigning NWC Offensive Student-Athlete and the AVCA Division III Player of the Week, picked up right where she left off. The junior from Tillamook had 16 kills and two blocks in the win to lead Pacific, who hit .396 in the win. Zweifel was not a one-woman show as junior Nanea Lum added 10 kills, plus sophomore Makenna Mahuna had 35 assists, junior Terina DeFries added four service aces. The Boxers also got a solid all-around effort from senior Karlee Duncan, who nearly had a double double with eight digs, seven kills and three service aces in the win. Â Â
Next, the Boxers will travel to Salem on Saturday for a 6 p.m. matchup against the Bearcats.
