Julie Abrigonde continued her record-setting freshman season, setting a new Pacific school record in the 100-yard backstroke to lead the Boxers in a dual meet against Linfield on Saturday.
Abrigonde, who earlier this year set a new mark in the 100-yard individual medley, touched the wall in a time of 1:00.07 to eclipse the mark of 1:00.33 held by Eileen Bringman (2009) and Kristine Valdez (2013) to win the 100-yard backstroke. She also was victorious in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:53.24.
After missing the fall semester while studying abroad,
Avery Beckius was third in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 29.43. The Boxers also got a third-place finish by
Cecilia Maciel in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:40.17. Plus,
Julia Crumb was second in the 500-yard freestyle (5:53.66) and third in the 1650-yard freestyle (20:29.46)
On the men's side, senior
Woodey Greer won the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 51.95. He took third in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 23.28.
The Pacific men won the 200-yard freestyle relay and the women also won its 200-yard freestyle relay as well as the 200-yard medley relay.
Next, Pacific will host Willamette on Friday, Jan. 24 and Pacific Lutheran for SENIOR DAY on Saturday, Jan. 25 at the Forest Grove Aquatic Center.
