FOREST GROVE, Ore.- The Pacific University women's swimming team battled to a tie with Lewis & Clark on Friday evening to highlight the weekend, but the men's team would drop a pair of contests at the Forest Grove Aquatic Center.
It would finish all square between the women of Lewis & Clark and the Boxers on Friday night, as both teams posted a team score of 102 in the dual meet. On Saturday morning, Pacific would fall 114-69 to Puget Sound.
The Boxer men struggled in both outings, falling 129-45 against the Pioneers before dropping another meet to the Loggers the following morning
RESULTS
Women
Pacific got the perfect start to the meet on Friday night when
Alex Moehnke (Sophomore/Banks, OR),
Madelyn Russell (Sophomore/Simi Valley, CA),
Allison Simon (Sophomore/Chula Vista, CA), and
Julie Abrigonde (Junior/Reno, NV) earned a first-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay, clocking in at 1:56.52 to earn 11 points for their team.
Julia Crumb (Senior/North Bend, WA) finished 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 19:57.78. Moehnke came out victorious in the 50-yard freestyle before Russell, Brandow, and Crumb swept all three podium spots in the 100-yard butterfly.
Moehnke continued her fantastic night with another top finish, this time in the 100-yard backstroke. Crumb went on to win her second event of the night in the 500-yard freestyle.
In the second meet of the weekend, Crumb grabbed yet another first-place finish for the Boxers. Her time of 2:28.58 in the 200-yard butterfly was good enough to earn nine points for Pacific.
Brandow followed with an important victory in the 200-yard backstroke and Moehnke concluded the day with her win in the 200-yard breaststroke.
Men
The Boxer Men were unable to pick up any event victories in the meet against Lewis & Clark, but saw some decent swims from Connor Gates (Junior/Aberdeen, WA) and
Benjamin Jones (Vancouver, WA).
Josh Joireman (Junior/Pullman, WA) highlighted the second meet by winning 200-yard freestyle, clocking in at 1:52.61.

Pacific will have a week off from competition before they head to Newberg, Ore. to compete in the Bruin Invite on Dec. 4 at 10 a.m.
