SALEM, Ore.- The Pacific University men's and women's swimming teams competed in a Northwest Conference dual meet Saturday morning against Willamette but the Bearcats would come out victorious in both the men's and women's competitions.

The Boxer women fell 108.5-892.5 while the men were defeated by the score of 135-39.

Alex Moehnke (Sophomore/Banks, OR),
Madelyn Russell (Sophomore/Simi Valley, CA),
Allison Simon (Sophomore/Chula Vista, CA), and
Julie Abrigonde (Junior/Reno, NV) opened the meet with a first-place finish in the 400-yard medley relay, clocking in at 4:26.60 which was 12.40 seconds ahead of the relay team from Willamette.

Amira Boler (Freshman/St. Paul, MN) swam to second place finish in the 1000-yard Freestyle with a time of 14:22.98.

Abrigonde was able to claim the win in the 200-yard Freestyle with a time of 2:08.68. This time came in a mere 15 hundredths of a second ahead of the Willamette swimmer.
Allison Simon (Sophomore/ Chula Vista, CA) finished in 3
rd place in the race but was only 29 hundredths of second behind Abrigonde.
Anne Marie Grieder-Jacobs (Freshman/ Portland, OR) claimed the victory in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 27.01.
Moehnke continued her good day in the pool with a first-place finish in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:22.43.

In her last individual swim of the day, Abrigonde added another victory to her day's totals with a swim of 5:48.70 in the 500-yard Freestyle.

Â
Josh Joireman (Junior/Pullman, WA) claimed the victory in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:56.57. Teammate
Ethan Hunter (Senior/ Silverton, OR) finished 4
th in the event.
Joireman added another individual victory in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:14.15.
