FOREST GROVE, Ore.- On Friday evening, the Pacific University swimming teams hosted Pacific Lutheran for their first meet in 2022.
 
The women's team would fall 56-142 and the Boxer men dropped their contest 45-114.

Women
 
Julie Abrigonde (Junior/Reno, NV), Hannah Brandow (Senior/Eugene, OR), Julia Crumb (Senior/North Bend, WA), and Madelyn Russell (Sophomore/Simi Valley, CA) started off the competition with a second-place finish in the 400-yard medley relay, posting a time of 4:25.29 to earn four points for the Boxers.
 
Abrigonde followed by taking first place in the 1000-yard freestyle. The junior touched the wall at 12:00.69 and grabbed nine points for the team. Kristine Dillon (Freshman/Irvine, CA) also came in with a personal-best time (15:17.94) in the same event.
 
Anne Marie Grieder-Jacobs (Freshman/Portland, OR) earned three more points in the 200-yard freestyle with her third-place time of 2:07.80. Russell notched three more points in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 27.76.
 
Posting a personal-best time of 2:27.19 in the 200-yard butterfly was Crumb, earning four points for the team with her second-place finish.
 
Abrigonde continued her solid night in the pool by grabbing three points in the 200-yard backstroke with her time of 2:22.56. 
 
Men
 
Hung Huynh (Senior/Billings, MT) posted a personal-best time of 26.94 in the 50-yard freestyle, earning three points for Pacific.  
 
Josh Joireman (Junior/Pullman, WA) swam to the top spot in the 200-yard freestyle with his time of 1:51.92. and Benjamin Jones (Junior/Vancouver, WA) followed with a time of 2:38.41 in the 200-yard IM.
 
Huynh enjoyed more success in the competition's 12^th event, the 200-yard butterfly, swimming to first place with a time of 2:06.63.
 
Joireman picked up another victory, this time in the 500-yard freestyle as he touched the wall at 5:11.13.

Pacific returns to action on Jan. 21 at 6 p.m. when they head to Spokane, Wash. to take on Whitworth.
