WALLA WALLA, Wash.- The Pacific University men's and women's swimming teams concluded their road trip in Washington by taking on Whitman for another Northwest Conference dual meet. The men's team fell 20-171 while the women were defeated 41-160.

Women
In the first event of the day,
Hannah Brandow (Senior/Eugene, OR),
Julie Abrigonde (Junior/Reno, NV),
Alex Moehnke (Sophomore/Banks, OR), and
Anne Marie Grieder-Jacobs (Freshman/Portland, OR) teamed up in the 200-yard medley relay and swam to second place with a time of 1:59.11. The relay team earned four points to get the Boxers on the board.
Julia Crumb (Senior/North Bend, WA) had another good day in the pool as she posted a second-place time of 19:58.88 in the 1,650-yard freestyle.
Moehnke won the 50-yard freestyle for the second straight day, improving her time in the event (25.54). The sophomore then grabbed third place 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:04.23.
In the 100-yard backstroke, Brandow earned four points for Pacific with her second-place time of 1:01.94.
Men
Josh Joireman (Junior/Pullman, WA) continued his solid weekend with another second-place finish. The junior picked up four points by finishing second 200-yard freestyle (1:52.59). He followed that up with a time of 55.53 in the 100-yard butterfly, grabbing three more points for the Boxers.
Benjamin Jones (Junior/Vancouver, WA) raced to third place in the 100-yard backstroke, touching the wall at 1:13.74.
In the 100-yard breaststroke,
Hung Huynh (Senior/Billings, MT) racked up three more points for his team by finishing third with a time of 1:07.23.
Up Next
Pacific will host Senior Day on Jan. 29 at 10 a.m. when they host Linfield at the Forest Grove Aquatic Center. Prior to the meet, the Boxer seniors will be honored for their dedication to the Pacific swimming program.
