SALEM, Ore.- The Pacific University lacrosse team opened up their 2022 campaign with a win on Saturday afternoon over NAIA competitor Corban University. Pacific's
Hyland Cullen-Musengo (Sophomore/Portland, OR) led the way with seven goals on the day.

How It Happened
Â
The Boxers found themselves down 2-0 in the first five minutes before Cullen-Musengo registered her first goal on the year halfway through the opening quarter. Corban would get on the board two more time in the opening quarter to take a 4-1 lead.

The second quarter was all about Cullen-Musengo who registered an astounding three goals in eight minutes to put the Boxers down 5-4 heading into the halftime break.

Alex Avila-Griffin (Sophomore/Aliso Viejo, CA) would open the scoring 36 seconds into the second half on an unassisted goal. Cullen-Musengo would then set up teammate
Vivian Mai (Senior/Portland, OR) who would find the back of the net for her first goal of the season. Cullen-Musengo would add one more in the quarter to head to the 4
th quarter tied at 7.

Mai would give the Boxers the early lead before Corban would respond less than a minute later. Just over a minute later Cullen-Musengo would register her sixth goal of the day giving the Boxers a 9-8 lead.
Katrina Boyd (Senior/San Jose, CA) and Cullen-Musengo would each add another goal putting the Boxers up for good on the way to the 11-10 victory.
