FOREST GROVE, Ore. – Pacific women's basketball return to their winning ways on Friday with a 63-61 win over Willamette. 

The Boxers were able to find their advantage shooting 43% from the three. 

Top Performers

Sydney Gray scored a team high 17 points. 
Rilee Price collected 15 points and a team high 4 assists.
Shaade Williams collected 14 points and 5 rebounds in the 33 minutes she played. 

How It Happened

Both teams had a slow start to the contest before Kovaloff opened the scoring for the Boxers two minutes into the quarter. A three and a half minute scoring drought for the Boxers was ended with back to back layups from Rilee Price. Danica Schmidt was able to convert her layup tying up the game 11-11 going into the quarter break.

The second quarter continued to be fairly even, when the Boxers put together a couple buckets to close out the quarter following a three minute scoring drought. Rilee Price would cap off the final seconds of the second quarter with a bucket before half to take a 27-26 lead to the locker room. 

The team traded buckets to start the second half, following Brillie Kovaloff's fastbreak layup. The next three minutes would be huge for the Boxers, putting together a 6-0 run scoring 10 points. Price would close out the quarter with a layup with 33 seconds left to take the Boxers into the 4th quarter with a 46-45 lead.  

Gray would open up the final quarter with a layup before the Bearcats would find their footing going three of three into the intermission. With forty-nine seconds left, Gray would convert a layup and the ensuing free throw to give the Boxers the 61-59 lead. The Red and Black maintained their momentum with a couple of big stops on the defensive end before Gray was able to draw a foul to solidify the Boxers 63-61 win.

Pacific heads to Tacoma on Saturday for a 6 P.M. rematch from earlier in the season that saw Pacific lose 51-63.
