FOREST GROVE, Ore.- The Pacific University lacrosse team dropped a contest 13-4 on Wednesday evening to Linfield University.

The Wildcats were able to find their advantage on the defensive end forcing 34 Boxer turnovers while also picking up 25 groundballs.

- Sarah Pokorny had arguably the best performance of her freshman year this far scoring three goals on the four shots that she attempted.
- Taylor Alcaire was able to fire all three shots she took on frame for the Boxers.
- Hyland Cullen-Musengo picked up four ground balls in the contest, the most by any Boxer.

How It Happened

The Boxers were the first to strike in the contest when
Taylor Alcaire was able to find the back of the net with a shot less than three minutes from the opening draw. Linfield was able to respond scoring three straight goals to push their lead to 3-1. Following a wide shot by
Devyn Davis, Pokorny was able to close the Boxer deficit to one with a goal with 6:14 left in the first quarter. At the end of the opening quarter, the visitors held a 3-2 lead.

It took a while for either team to register a goal in the second quarter. The Wildcats would score their fourth goal of the contest at the 5:41 mark remaining in the first half. Pokorny would register her second goal of the game less than a minute later to make the score 4-3 in favor of Linfield. Linfield would add another goal to their total as they would take a 5-3 lead into halftime.

Sarah Pokorny would convert a free position shot 37 seconds into the third quarter to again shrink the Wildcat lead to one. Linfield would respond with four unanswered goals to close out the third quarter taking a 9-4 lead into the final quarter in which they would add four more goals earning the 13-4 win.
