ESTACADA
-- This past Saturday the women's and men's cross country teams competed at the NCAA DIII West Regional Championships. Hosted by Lewis & Clark College at Milo McIver State Park, the Boxers finished their season with one of their best performances.
Coming in ranked 18th, the women finished in 19th overall, just 13 points out of 18th place.
On the men's side, Pacific moved up from the rankings coming in, finishing in 21st place. This was also an improvement from where the Boxers finished last season when they placed 23rd.
"I'm very pleased with how everyone performed today," Pacific head coach
Christine Eckstein said. "What a way to cap off the season. We had a couple people battling injuries and they gutted it out on a tougher course and one that is not so forgiving with the ankles. Time wise most of our team ran faster today than they did 1 month ago when we ran the same course at the Lewis and Clark Invitational.
"I thought our team handled this meet with poise and were ready for the challenge of how good the competition would be. We have so many positive things to take away from this meet and the season. We showed up with a positive attitude, confident, and we raced hard. There's nothing more that I could ask from this team. "
