TACOMA, Wash. -- Getting its first look at the full Northwest Conference field, the Pacific women's cross country team placed third Saturday morning.
Competing on this year's NWC Championship course, PLU Meadows, the Boxers recorded 89 points to finish behind only first-place George Fox (38) and runner-up Whitworth (57).
Running in a pack, freshman
Ali Heinly and graduate students
Dina Altuhovs and
Ria Gill paced Pacific in the women's 6K race, finishing 13th, 14th and 15th, respectively, in 23 minutes, 19.6 seconds, 23:32.1 and 23:44.5.Â
Not far behind, senior
Megan Feitz placed 20th in 23:49.1 and junior
Morgan Boddy took 39th in 24:35.2.
The Pacific men finished eighth overall and seventh out of the NWC teams.
Sophomore
Peyton Fisher paced the Boxers in the 8K race, placing 34th overall in 26.57.7. Sophomore
Jacob Tilden took 47th in 27:27.6 and senior
Henry Tierney finished 57th in 27:51.9.
Next: The Boxers will compete in the Charles Bowles Invite on Saturday, Oct. 4 in Salem.
