Box Score SALEM -- The third time was not the charm for the Pacific women's basketball team. 

Playing in the Northwest Conference championship game for back-to-back-to-back seasons, the Boxers again finished runner-up, this time falling to Puget Sound 61-57 Saturday night at Willamette University's Cone Field House.

The Loggers, coming off a dominating 70-50 victory over NWC regular season champion Willamette in the semifinals, grabbed a 12-10 lead in the first period against Pacific and never trailed again.

Down 10 points, 50-40, with 7:26 remaining in the game, the Boxers battled back to get within two points, 55-53, on an Alexis Intong layup with 2:19 left to play.

A Sydney Gray layup again got Pacific within two points, 57-55, with 43 seconds remaining. However, Puget Sound's Katie Minnehan made a jump shot with 17 seconds left to play and then knocked down two free throws with three seconds remaining to finish off the Boxers. 

Pacific made just 2 of 15 3-pointers in the loss and finished 37.5 percent from the field overall.

In her final game in a Pacific uniform, fifth-year senior Brilie Kovaloff had 15 points and six rebounds. Rilee Price finished with 10 points, six rebounds and three assists. Gray had eight points, eight rebounds and three assists. Intong added seven points and eight rebounds.
