Eastern Oregon had no answer for
Devyn Davis. The Pacific senior scored eight goals Saturday as the Boxers opened the 2024 season at Hanson Stadium with a 13-9 victory.
Davis need just 1 minute, 59 seconds to score her first goal and give Pacific a 1-0 lead.
After Eastern Oregon answered with two goals, Davis added two more goals to give the Boxers a 3-2 lead with 13:54 remaining in the second quarter.
Tied 3-3, Davis struck again to give Pacific a 4-3 lead with 4:18 remaining in the first half. Tied 4-4,
Sarah Quade scored on an assist from
Jasmyn Zimmerman to give the Boxers a 5-4 lead at halftime.
After the Mountaineers tied the game at 5-5 early in the second half, Pacific scored three straight goals, including two by Davis, to take an 8-5 lead with 9:07 remaining in the third quarter.
The Boxers added three more goals to stretch its advantage to 11-6 with 13 seconds remaining in the third period. Zimmerman,
Cyan Fellows and
Cameron Cabuco also scored goals in the win.Â
Pacific goalkeeper
Diane Crets finished the game with 12 saves.Â
