TACOMA, Wash. — A year after finishing near the bottom of the Northwest Conference, the Pacific women's cross country team climbed all the way up to third on Saturday morning.
Paced by senior
Megan Feitz and fifth-year
Ria Gill, the Boxers finished behind only NWC champion George Fox and runner-up Whitworth.
Fetiz placed eighth overall in the 6K race in 23 minutes, 8.71 seconds and Gill took ninth in 23:10.57, both earning Second Team All-Conference honors.Â
Running in a pack, freshman
Ali Heinly, fifth-year
Dina Altuhovs and junior
Morgan Boddy finished 19th, 20th and 21st, respectively, in 23:55.14, 24:07.37 and 24:07.90.Â
George Fox's Emily Foote won the women's race in 22:02.67.Â
Pacific finished seventh in the men's team standings.
Sophomore
Peyton Fisher, a Third Team All-Conference selection, placed 11th in the 8K race in 26:13.90 to lead the Boxers.
Senior
Henry Tierney (27:09.53) and sophomore
Jacob Tilden (27:18.05) finished 30th and 34th, respectively.
George Fox and Whitworth also finished 1-2 in the men's standings.Â
Puget Sound's Cian Monaghan won the men's race in 25:16.16.
