MONMOUTH, Ore. – The Pacific cross country teams took on the Ash Creek Invitational Friday afternoon at Western Oregon University. 

The men were competing once again in the 6K race. Junior Jacob Tilden held great form throughout the race and was the first Boxer to cross the finish line in a personal best time of 19:25.3, finishing in 31st place. He was followed by junior Tathan Woodward ,who also ran a personal best in the 6K. He finished in 44th place in a time of 19:58.8. Junior RJ Lydon rounded out the top three, finishing in 61st place in a time of 20:43.4. 

The men finished 8th as a team in a field of 10, just ahead of George Fox. 
 
Following the men's race, the women moved up in distance to the 5K race. Graduate student Ria Gill stayed strong in the lead pack for the majority of the race and ended up finishing 5th overall, flying to the line in a time of 18:15.6. That mark puts her No. 4 all-time on the Pacific Top 25 list for the cross country 5K. Freshman Emily Davidson was the second Pacific athlete to cross the line in 40th place with a time of 20:22.4, while freshman Isabel Camp was close behind and finished in 48th place with a time of 20:46.3.

The Pacific women finished 6th out of 10 teams, ahead of both Linfield and Lewis and Clark.

Pacific will take to The Course up in Spokane, Wash. on October 3rd at the Frank Knott XC Classic. This race is a chance to preview the regional course that will take place in November.
