The Pacific women's lacrosse team defeated Pacific Lutheran 9-6 Friday night to improve to 1-4 in the Northwest Conference.
The Boxers started and ended the match strong.
Pacific jumped out to a 4-1 lead behind goals from four different players --
Ellena Willingham,
Jasmyn Zimmerman,
Sarah Quade and
Cameron Cabuco.Â
After Pacific Lutheran battled back to tie the game at 5-5, the Boxers scored three straight goals to take the lead for good.Â
Cabuco, Willingham and Zimmerman each scored two goals in the victory.
Madison Boehringer scored the go-ahead goal on an assist from
Abigail Boyer to put Pacific on top 6-5 with 12:16 remaining in the second period.
Quade added two assists and led the Boxers with six ground balls.
Sophie Sheppard and
Jocelyn Taylor split time at goalkeeper. Sheppard recorded three saves in the first half. Taylor had one save in the second half.
Next: Pacific hosts Puget Sound on Saturday at 1 p.m.
