PORTLAND - In the final competition before the Northwest Conference Championships, several Pacific athletes took one final swing at hitting a qualifying mark, or to get a solid competition in before next week. Competition began on Friday at Pacific with the hammer and javelin throws, while the rest was contested at Lewis and Clark College on Saturday.
Top Performers
Friday afternoon saw two athletes qualify for NWC championships. Senior Ashley Gamble and freshman Kyan Paxton both threw personal records to reach the qualifying standard. Gamble finished the competition in 3rd place. The following day, several personal and season bests occurred, including senior Angelica Gatica-Gomez finishing 2nd in the women's 400-meter run with a time of 58.69 seconds. Freshman Peyton Fisher had a great race in the men's 1500, finishing with a time of 3:58.90 to earn him a spot on Pacific's All-Time Top Ten list at the #9 spot.

Pacific will compete in the Northwest Conference Championships, hosted at Lewis and Clark College April 26th-27th. This meet brings together all members of the Northwest Conference and will crown individual and team champions for the 2025 season.
