CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The Pacific women's wrestling team is adding a national award to its trophy case. The Boxers placed seventh at the 2026 National Wrestling Coaches Association National Duals on Saturday.
Pacific, which finished 3-2 in five matches, opened the National Duals Friday with a 31-17 victory over Adrian College. After falling to Simpson in the quarterfinals, the Boxers regrouped to defeat Albion 28-14 in the consolation bracket.
Pacific then suffered a one-point loss (23-22) to Augustana (Ill.) in the consolation semifinals to setup a showdown with Eastern for seventh place. At 180 pounds, Pacific senior
Makaila Takahashi defeated Eastern's Maya Kreiger by a 12-8 decision to secure a 23-20 team victory.
Takahashi finished 4-1 in her five matches. At 138 pounds, Pacific junior
Audrey Diaz was a perfect 5-0 with two pins and two technical falls. Senior
Paige Beals went 3-2 at 180, winning all three of her matches by tech fall.
