MCMINNVILLE – The Pacific women's lacrosse team opened Northwest Conference play Saturday afternoon with a 12-4 loss at Linfield.

The Boxers led 2-1 with 9:24 remaining in the second period thanks to goals by
Ellena Willingham and
Erin Casey. But the Wildcats responded with five straight goals to take a 6-2 advantage early in the third quarter.

Willingham ended Pacific's scoring drought on assist from
Cameron Cabuco with 4:43 remaining in the third to get the Boxers within 6-3. However, Linfield added five more consecutive goals to put the game out of reach.

Sarah Quade also scored a goal in the loss. Casey finished with six ground balls.

Next:Â The Boxers travel to North Carolina for spring break to take on Greensboro College Wednesday and Warren Wilson on Friday.
