McMINNVILLE, Ore. — The Pacific women's 4 x 400 relay team placed first and smashed the school record by over five seconds to highlight Boxer performances at the Jenn Boyman Memorial Invitational on Saturday, hosted by Linfield College.

The team of Megan Eberhardt, Jess Knoll, Marissa Smith and Breezy Brookbank clipped the four-minute barrier with a tape crossing of 3:59.99. Eastern Oregon was just behind the Boxers in 4:00.39. The previous Pacific school record was 4:05.10, set in 2013.

The time is also the tenth fastest in the country thus far at the NCAA Division III level.

That was Pacific's only first place finish at the meet, which featured a large field of Division III, NAIA and junior college teams.

Other top finishes for the women included Knoll's third place finish in the 800 meters (2:20.25) and Stephenie Spencer's bronze crossing in the 1,500 meters (4:52.78). That was Spencer's first 1,500 meter of the season, and it puts her fourth all-time on Pacfiic's Top 10 list.

Kelsey Lee placed second in the 400 hurdles in 1:04.82, topped by George Fox's Sarah King (1:03.81). Mackenzie Huddleston was third in the javelin (134-4) and Karen Du was fifth in the discus (119-03).

Pacific's 4 x 100 relay team also was impressive with a time of 49.47 in a scorching fast race. The Boxers finished fourth, but the three teams ahead of them were all only a half a second better or less. The race was won by Willamette in 49.05. Pacific's foursome was made up of Brookbank, Mikaela Bernards, Ary'l Burgoyne and Smith.

For the men, Garrett Price finished in the top half of the field in the 100 (11.30) and 200 meters (22.91)--carding the ninth and 11th fastest times in field of 35-40 sprinters. George Twigg-Smith tied for third in the high jump (6-1 1/4) and Jason Draper was sixth in the hammer (141-6).

Next up for the Boxers is the Rich Allen Classic at George Fox on Saturday, April 9.
