PORTLAND, Ore. - The Pacific track & field teams competed in their final meet prior to the Northwest Conference Championships at the Lewis & Clark Invitational on Saturday. Four new NWC Championship qualifying marks were recorded along with nine personal bests and several seasonal bests.

The performer of the day for the Boxers was
Megan Wesel (Winchester, Calif.). She had personal bests in the hammer throw (38.86m [127-6]) and discus throw (32.92m [108-0]) and won the shot put (12.43m [40-9.5]). The hammer mark is a new NWC qualifying mark and also sixth best in Pacific history.

Additional new NWC qualifying marks were turned in by
Gaige Felix (Cheney, Wash.) in the triple jump (12.73m [41-9.25]),
Jacob DuVall (Moses Lake, Wash.) in the shot put (13.30m [43-7.25]), and
Marissa Smith (Rancho Cordova, Calif.) in the 400 meters (61.19).

Additional personal bests were recorded by
Ryan Wood (Carlsbad, Calif.) in the 100 meters (12.26),
James Curro (Anchorage, Alaska) in the 200 meters (23.50),
Garrett Stewart (Forest Grove, Ore.) in the 400 meters (51.71),
Samuel Cortez (Delhi, Calif.) and
Kayla Richardson (Roseville, Calif.) in the 400 hurdles (63.97 and 68.71 respectively),
Brynna Close (Riverside, Calif.) in the pole vault (3.21m [10-6.25]) and
Emily DeYoung (McMinnville, Ore.) in the shot put (12.13m [39-9.75]). DeYoung moved up to fifth in Pacific history and Richardson broke into the top 10 list at #8.Â
Audrey Lincoln (Hermiston, Ore.) also moved up to #5 in the 100 meters (12.92).

The Northwest Conference Championships will take place on this coming Friday and Saturday, April 20-21 at Linfield College in McMinnville, Ore. The Boxers have 54 qualifiers for the meet with 18 ranked in the top five in their event.Â
Kolby Nikolaisen (Sumner, Wash.),
Jason Draper (Novato, Calif.) and
Dianna Church (Bothell, Wash.) are ranked first in their respective events, the pole vault (4.77m [15-7.75]) and men's (51.97m [170-6]) and women's hammer throw (47.02m [154-3]).
