NEWBERG, Ore. – The Boxer men and women's track teams competed in the George Fox Indoor #2 track meet at George Fox University on Friday, February 17, 2023. This was the last indoor meet of the 2023 season. Several Boxers walked away with new PRs, and three athletes placed in the top three in their event.
Top Performers
Ally Hammond won the women's 60m dash in a time of 8.12, just 0.3 off her own school record. Romel Moreland ran a big PR in the men's 60m prelims - he ran 7.10, and then followed up with a 5th place finish and time of 7.14 in finals. Jarod Moren also had a good day, walking away from the men's pole vault with a 4th place finish and new lifetime PR of 4.04m, 13-03.00. Andrew Reid took 2nd place in the men's shot put with his toss of 14.08m, 46-02.50. Savannah Ashbaugh was 3rd in the women's shot put, throwing 10.94m, 35-10.75.

Up Next
The Boxers will open the outdoor season the first weekend of March, March 3-4. The distance runners will start of the meet with a 10k on Friday night and then the rest of the athletes will compete Saturday in a full meet.
