Boxer Track and Field Concludes Indoor Competition at George Fox

Newberg, Ore. – The Pacific Track and Field team returned to Newberg this week to compete at the second George Fox Indoor meet. On Saturday the Boxers competed at George Fox's indoor facility where there were five new All-Time Top 10 records including a new school record.  

Top Performers

Leading off with the Pole Vault, freshman Cadence Schedlbauer reset her previous school record by jumping a new personal record of 3.50m. Schedlbauer broke her previous school record of 3.44m by six centimeters, leading her to place 2nd in the Women's Pole Vault.

In the Women's 60m Hurdles, sophomore Sydney Esperanza ran a 9.72, now making her #4 on the All-Time Top 10 List. Following Esperanza senior Brody Bantolina ran a time of 7.21 in the Men's 60m and is now tied at #7 on the All-Time Top 10 List.

In the Men's Weight Throw, there were two All-Time Top 10 performances. First was freshman Noel Gutierrez, who threw 13.15m, making him #7 All-Time and placing 5th in Saturday's competition. Following behind Gutierrez, sophomore Noah Tyrin is now #8 All-Time with his throw of 12.97m, placing 6th overall. 

"We wrapped up the indoor season on a positive note with 75 Top 10 performances and 12 school records, including Cadence Schedlbauer resetting her own school record in the Pole Vault," says head coach Ryan Huntersimms. "We're excited to watch Ally Hammond compete at indoor nationals in a couple of weeks . The progress and growth of our athletes continue to show us gearing up for a strong start to the outdoor season."

Up Next

The next event for the Boxers Track and Field team will be their first outdoor competition. The Boxers will travel to McMinnville, Ore. and compete in the Linfield Icebreaker. The competition will span over two days. The 10k will be held on March 6th, and the rest of the competition will take place on March 7th, where there will be a full spread of running and field events.
