Forest Grove, Ore. – The Pacific Track and Field team celebrated their senior competition while hosting the Pacific Open at Hanson Stadium on Saturday, March 28th. During the home competition, there were nine Northwest Conference Qualifiers and seven All-Time Top Ten performances, two of which were school records.
Top Performers
Senior
Ally Hammond had an all-star performance in the Women's 100m Hurdles in Saturday's competition. Hammond's time of 13.60 set a new personal record and broke her previous school record in the event. Hammond's performance also places her #2 all-time in NCAA Division III.
Also competing in the 100m Hurdles was sophomore
Sydney Esperanza. Esperanza ran a time of 15.62, which placed her #5 on the All-Time Top Ten list. After the 100m Hurdles, graduate student
Josie Lavato competed in the Women's 100m. Lavato ran a new season-best of 12.71, which moves her to #3 on the All-Time Top Ten list.
The Boxers had three teams compete in the Mixed 4x4 Relay. All of which placed on the All-Time Top Ten list. The Boxers "C" team, consisting of
Mikell Adler,
Sydney Esperanza,
Kamron Shields, and
Ally Hammond, ran a time of 3:43.41. Their time sets the school record in the event. Following them to #2 on the All-Time Top 10 list with a time of 3:50.62 was the Boxers' "A" team consisting of
Jett Cowee,
Lauren Ortega, Henry Tiereny, and
Ali Heinly. Then, becoming #3 on the All-Time Top 10 list was the Boxers' "B" team of
Jevin Lim,
Maya Kaneshiro,
Zaccarius Barnett-Grizzell, and Joise Lavato with a time of 3:50.66.
"I am blessed to be able to coach an amazing group of seniors. It was a great day honoring them, and we saw some incredible results," said head coach
