Monmouth Ore. – Pacific Track and Field traveled to Western Oregon University to compete at the John Knight Twilight Invitational. The competition took place over the two days of Friday, April 10th, and Saturday, April 11th. Over the two days of competition, there were four Northwest Conference Qualifiers and two All-Time Top Ten performances, one of which was a school record.
Top Performers
Senior Ally Hammond once again broke another school record. Hammond ran the 400m Hurdles in Friday's competition. Her time of 1:03.65 not only broke the school record but also qualified her for the Northwest Conference Championships.
Building on Hammond's record-breaking performance, sophomore Sydney Esperanza moved to #3 All-Time in the Women's 100m Hurdles with a time of 15.37. Sophomore Mikell Adler also qualified for the Northwest Conference Championships with a time of 57.37 in the Men's 400m Hurdles.
Freshman Ali Heinly also qualified for the Northwest Conference Championships with a time of 2:23.26 in the Women's 800. Following Heinley's performance, sophomore Noah Tyrin threw 40.51 in the Men's Hammer Throw, which qualified him for the Northwest Conference Championships in the event.
Reflecting on the team's efforts, Head Coach Ryan Huntersimms said, "John Knight Twilight was a wild meet. All the athletes battled adversity over the last two days, and it was ultimately a successful and valuable learning experience. The meet was about having fun with events and trying out new meet strategies."

Next up
The Boxers Track and Field team will split into two meets this upcoming weekend. On Monday and Tuesday, April 13th and 14th, Kamron Shields, Courtney Tiernan, and Dani Hammond will head to the Multi Northwest Conference Championships to compete in the Decathlon and Heptathlon. On Saturday, April 18th, the Boxers will travel back to Portland Ore. to compete at Lewis and Clark University.
