Ally Hammond Breaks Women's Long Jump School Record at George Fox University Final Qualifier

Newberg,  Ore. – The Boxer track teams sent three athletes to Newberg to compete in the George Fox Final Qualifier on Thursday, May 18, 2023. Ally Hammond broke the women's long jump school record with her winning jump of 5.57m (18-03.25). This is Hammond's second school record this year.

Hammond set the school record in her first attempt during the women's long jump. This bested her old PR of 5.49m by 0.8m to win the meet and set the school record. The old school record was 5.50m (18-0.50) set in 2009 by Angie Miller. Hammond also owns the women's indoor 60m school record, which she set this year at 8.09.

At the GFU Final Qualifier, Annie Berry also ran an excellent 400m race, her debut in that event, setting a PR of 59.44, which moves her up to #4 on Pacific's Top Ten List.

The final accepted entries for the 2023 NCAA DIII Outdoor Track and Field National Championships will be released today. There will be another story if any Boxers land a spot in the National Championships. For the latest information on Pacific Athletics, make sure to check out GoBoxers.com.
