Forest Grove, Ore. – Senior Dominic Funk has qualified for the NCAA DIII Outdoor Track & Field National Championships in the men's javelin. This is the third time Funk has made the NCAA Championships in this event.
Funk is the school record holder in the men's javelin at Pacific at 64.56 (211-9) which he set in the 2022 season. Funk qualified for the NCAA Championships in 2021 and 2022 in the men's javelin. In 2021, Funk finished in 8th place to earn All-American Honors. In 2022, Funk finished 10th at the championships. This year, Funk heads into NCAAs ranked 8th in the nation. At the Northwest Conference Championships, Funk placed 2nd in 2021, 3rd in 2022, and 2nd again in 2023.
Funk will compete in the preliminary round of the men's javelin on Thursday, May 25, 2023. The top nine athletes out of the prelims will make the finals and compete immediately following the prelims.
