Spokane Wash. - The Boxers broke six school records in their first indoor track meet of the season. The teams competed in the 2024 Inland Northwest Invitational, hosted by Whitworth University at The Podium in Spokane.
Lucas Dahl broke two school records, setting a new record for the men's 60m in 6.95 and the men's 200m in 22.41. Henry Tierney broke the men's indoor mile record, winning the race and running 4:13.51. Ally Hammond broke two women's records, breaking the 60m hurdles record by running 9.08 and setting the new 200m record at 25.81. At the end of the meet, the women's 4 x 400m team of Ally Hammond, Annie Berry, Emily Rutkowski and Angelica Gatica-Gomez broke the school record, running 4:09.48.Â
"I'm happy to have a strong, solid start to the season," said head track and field coach, Ryan Huntersimms. "It was great to have six school records fall today. We're excited for our upcoming meet next week."

Ally Hammond broke the women's 60m hurdles school record, running 9.08 in the prelims and placing 7th in finals. She also set the school record in the 200m, running 25.81 and finishing 7th in that event as well.Â

Henry Tierney broke the men's mile school record, running 4:13.51. He won the mile race, and went on to place 5th in the 3k later that day, running 8:50.15.
Up NextÂ
The Boxers will compete in the George Fox Indoor #1 Meet on Saturday, February 3, with all short sprints, hurdles and field events contested. The next day, Sunday February 3, the team will compete at the University of Portland in the UP Indoor #2 where all events 200m and longer will be contested.Â
