Portland, Ore. – The Boxers competed in the Lewis and Clark Distance Carnival on Saturday, May 11. Henry Tierney competed in the men's elite 800m race where he took fourth place and ran a new PR of 1:49.93, which ranks him #9 in the NCAA as of today. The top 22 competitors ranked in each event at the end of day this Thursday, May 16 will qualify for the NCAA National Championships.
Top Performers
Lucas Dahl won both the men's 100m and 200m and set new meet records in both events, running 10.82 in the 100m and 21.66 in the 200m. Ally Hammond took second place in the 100m hurdles, running 14.60. Dina Altuhovs took third place in the women's 400m, running 1:05.20. Emily Rutkowksi and Courtney Tiernan were the only two women who raced the 400m hurdles, and Rutkowski won the race in 1:06.11, with Tiernan coming in second in 1:11.38. Cris Brethower took third place in the women's 10k, running 39:31.64. In the field events, Russ Charmichael took third in the men's discus with a mark of 38.64m.

A handful of Boxers will compete in the George Fox Final Qualifier on Thursday, May 16. This is the last day possible to qualify for the NCAA National Championships. At the conclusion of Thursday, May 16, the top 22 marks in each event will be considered qualifying for the National Championships. Athletes must declare themselves in their respective events and a final list of all participants will be posted on Friday, May 17 at 8:00pm Eastern Time.
