Eugene, McMinnville and Portland, Ore. – The Boxers competed in the Oregon Twilight in Eugene at historic Hayward Field on Friday night, May 3, and again at the Linfield Open and the Portland Twilight meets on Saturday, May 4. At the Oregon Twilight, Ally Hammond broke her own school record in the 100m hurdles yet again, running 14.53 and taking 6th place overall. Henry Tierney also had a breakthrough performance in the men's 800m, running a big PR of 1:50.32 to take second in his heat and 6th place overall in the meet.
Top Performers
Ally Hammond and Henry Tierney led the Boxers in Eugene with their performances. At the Linfield Open, Jayden Fordahm had the highest finish for the Boxers with his third place finish in the men's triple jump, and a mark of 12.98. Jonette Singh took fifth in the women's triple jump with her mark of 10.64m. At the Portland Twilight, hosted at Griswold Stadium on Lewis and Clark's campus, Emily Rutkowski won the women's 400m hurdles with her time of 1:06.18. Ally Hammond was runner-up in both the 100m hurdles (14.99) and the 200m (25.63).
